Qoolife Waterproof RGB LED

January 3rd, 2019

Submersible waterproof RGB LED light pods designed for hot-tub and pool use certainly make an interesting new option for haunt lighting. The lights are battery powered, so run time is limited to an advertised 20 hours, plenty for most home haunters, and still reasonable compared to the expense of running waterproof and safe low voltage electrical for temporary pro haunts. Chasing batteries may preclude these from use in permanent installations, however, they are still great for props, costumes, parade floats, temporary displays, etc...

Be sure to go for the AA battery models for optimal battery life, and the Radio Frequency remote models are handy as long as you want all of the lights on the same mode, otherwise optical remotes are the way to go.

016 - Get Your Haunt Online Today!

October 3rd, 2018

If your haunt isn't online, can't be found by a quick web search, has no Facebook presence, and can't be found on Google Maps, it essentially doesn't exist.

This is a quick "emergency" podcast for any haunters who need to get their haunt online today, for $30 or less!

Step 1 - Create a Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/business/products/pages

Step 2 - Create a haunt e-mail and .com web address: https://gsuite.google.com/

Step 3 - Build a free website: https://sites.google.com

or https://www.wix.com/

Step 4 - Link it all together, and forward your .com to your new website

There are multiple platforms for all of these processes, these are just a few I have had great success with.

Haunters BBQ Walkthrough

August 19th, 2018

We had a blast at the Haunters BBQ in Jackson NJ this weekend.

The Haunters BBQ hosted by the Jersey Devil Experience is a collection of vendors, games, a spooky car show, a band, and plenty of socializing with local Haunters. We had a blast, and hope it becomes an annual event!

Check out the event walkthrough video here: https://youtu.be/rAdFeVIlVW4

---Sorry for the blur, it was SO humid out that the camera had condensation in it from being in the air-conditioned car---

Musical.ly? Tic Tok? Vine?

August 3rd, 2018

Musicly.ly? Tic Tok? Vine?
Hard to keep up with, sure!
Great free marketing opportunities semi-similar to Vine? Certainly!
As of today, Vine is long gone, and Tic Tok bought and Merged with Musical.ly
The monthly active audiences of the two, 500 Million and 100 Million, are now a total of 600 Million, which rivals that of Twitter, Reddit, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and Pinterest.
Yes it is a global audience, and there are currently no local options, but it's still fantastic for brand awareness with $0 cost.

The platform is designed for the creation of creating and sharing short 15-30 second video clips with music, comedic/iconic audio quotes, etc lip synced or danced to. This is a great way to show off your original characters, masks, makeup creations and more!

$22 Thrift Shop Speaker Haul!

July 16th, 2018

If you're not checking your local thrift shops for tech for your show, you're probably spending too much! For $22 we picked up a Proscan 2.1 audio system, 4x 8ohm surround sound speakers, and 2x 8ohm bookshelf speakers, all working, and all quality! We've found that most thrift stores restock just prior to the weekend, so shopping Friday night or early Saturday tends to yield the best results.

014 - LED Strip Lights

July 13th, 2018

LED strip lights are a great low voltage, low current, flexible, and easily installed option for effect, scene, and prop lighting. Strips range from a few inches to 30 foot +, indoor only to waterproof, and different manufacturers offer kits with various voltages and pattern options.

Recently many custom options have also become affordable and available, including aftermarket connectors to link, split, and even DMX control these light strips.

We have recently reviewed a few kits on our Youtube channel as well:
